Using a Discover Endpoint with PowerBI

    Discover supports the use of SQL and ODATA with PowerBI.

    New connections must be created using the desktop version of PowerBI. Web versions can be used once the connection has been created.

    To use an SQL endpoint, perform the following:

    1. Select ​Get Data​​​​​.
    2. Using the search bar, enter "​​Databricks​​" and select ​Databricks​ from the list. Click ​Connect​  to continue.
    3. Enter the following endpoint information:
    • Server Hostname:​ Enter the ​SQL Host​​.
    • HTTP Path:​ Enter the ​SQL HTTP Path​​.
    • Default Catalog:​ Enter the ​API Catalog​​.
    • Database:​ Enter the ​API Schema​​.

    1. Under Data Connectivity Mode, select ​Direct Query​ and click ​OK​​  to continue.
    2. Select Personal Access Token from the list on the left. Enter the user's ​Authentication Token​​​ and select ​Connect​​ .
    3. On the Navigator window, select the tables (objects) to import.
    4. The endpoint data is now available in PowerBI.

    To use an OData endpoint, perform the following:

    1. Select ​Get Data​​ ​​.
    2. Using the search bar, enter "​​OData​​" and select ​OData Feed​ from the list. Click ​Connect​  to continue.
    3. Leave the selection on "​​Basic​​". Enter the OData URL and select ​OK.​​
    4. Select "​​Basic​​" from the list on the left. Enter the following user information and then click ​Connect :
    • Username:​ Enter "​token​​".
    • Password:​ Enter the user's ​Authentication Token​​.

    1. On the Navigator window, select the tables (objects) to import.
    2. The endpoint data is now available in PowerBI.
